Discover the Television Tower: Prague’s Highest View, Unique Hotel and a Dose of Surreal Art

If you’re looking to see Prague from a whole new perspective — literally and figuratively — the Žižkov Television Tower is your next must-visit. It’s not just the tallest building in Prague. It’s a space where jaw-dropping views, world-class dining, modern art, and a luxury hotel room come together in one unforgettable experience.

Why You’ll Love It Here:

Unmatched panoramic views from 93 meters above Prague
Iconic art by David Černý: babies crawling up the tower
Dinner or drinks in the clouds at a high-end restaurant and bar
Sleep above the city in the exclusive One Room Hotel
✅ A symbol of Prague’s quirky charm with a fascinating backstory

Start with the View: A 360° Panorama of Prague

At 216 meters tall, the Žižkov Tower offers the best city views from its Observatory, located 93 meters above ground. Open daily from 9 AM to midnight, it’s perfect for daytime photography or a romantic night-time skyline.

Each of the tower’s three observation pods is thematically designed:

  • One introduces visitors to a global federation of towers, featuring famous observation towers from around the world.
  • Another features iconic bubble chairs, each equipped with a speaker playing real-time street sounds from 100 meters below.
  • The third pod functions as a rotating exhibition space, hosting works from contemporary Czech artists

Meet the “Babies” You’ll Never Forget

Perhaps the most eye-catching feature of the tower is the set of giant black babies crawling up and down its exterior. Created by provocative Czech artist David Černý, the sculptures — called Babies — were originally installed in 2000 when Prague was named the European Capital of Culture.

Each baby is 3.5 meters long, 2.4 meters tall, and weighs 350 kilograms. Their strange faces — replaced with barcode-like indentations — represent the eerie allure and alienation of modern technology. The original fiberglass versions were replaced in 2019 with more durable models.

Want to see them up close? Similar sculptures can be found on Kampa Island and even on the Prague 3 municipal hall.

Dine in the Sky: Exceptional Food with a View

Whether you’re in the mood for a romantic dinner or a relaxed lunch, the tower delivers:

  • Oblaca Restaurant (66m high): Upscale dining with Czech and international cuisine, wine pairings, and spectacular views.
  • Bistro 66 (66m high): A casual bistro popular with locals and digital nomads alike.
  • Miminoo (ground level): Cozy restaurant
